Well maybe not all of us, all of the time – but most of us choose to wear clothing at least some of the time and the choices we make affect our planet and our fellow human beings. Every piece of clothing we buy – or are given – leaves a footprint. Water, energy and labor are required to make even the simplest garment, and usually there are a few more things to considered. Unless grown organically, pesticides are used to grow natural fibers, chemicals are used to process and dye the fibers and garments and, synthetic fibers will be with us for a very long time. If we think about what we need and what we buy, we can change our footprint on the planet.
